This dressing is a rich and creamy sauce made with tahini and fresh lemon juice and seasoned with a touch of garlic for extra flavour and pure maple syrup for a touch sweetness.
TAHINI is made from roasted or raw sesame seeds that have been ground into a smooth and creamy paste.
This dressing or sauce is perfect for Buddha bowls, salads, falafel or even drizzled on roasted vegetables.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup tahini (ground sesame seeds)
- 2 Tbsp pure maple syrup
- 6 Tbsp fresh lemon juice (approx. 2 lemons)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 4 – 6 Tbsp warm water, as needed
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all the ingredients for the sauce (except for the water) in a large measuring cup or jar and whisk to fully combine. Add warm water as needed 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached. NOTE: The mixture may seize up and thicken at first but continue adding warm water a little at a time and whisking until creamy and smooth. Taste and adjust the seasoning as desired. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
